I ♥ TCP

Today I made my fourth trip to The Children's Place in less than a week and my seventh trip in less than a month. I'm beginning to think that I need to remove myself from their email list because the store is just too close to resist going and buying when I know what I want is on sale. It doesn't help that I stalk their website several times a week just looking for things that I want to buy and making a mental note of it in case it ever goes on sale (I never pay full price, well only once but that was a dress I just absolutely could not pass up). Typically we go twice a year (once toward the end of summer and again in January/February) to buy her clothes for the next year when they are having their AMAZING "50% off already reduced prices" so generally we end up paying ¼ of the price...it's great! But there are times when I see things that I think are must haves between those AMAZING sales. And so, I settle for just a pretty good sale because, as I said before, they are must haves.

Needless to say, today was one of those days. We'd been looking for a swim suit for Y for a while but couldn't find one we liked at a price we liked, so we thought we'd hold off for a while seeing as she probably won't need it for another month anyway. Well that holding off paid off today when I got that glorious email telling me that all swimwear was on sale at TCP. So I called in, asked if they had the one I wanted in the size I wanted and then asked them to hold it for me (glad I did that because it was the last in her size and they were also sold out of her size on their website).

You shouldn't be surprised that it is polka-dotted, if it's ever an option I will probably go with it. But I also loved the colors - so much so that I went out and bought yarn to match it and I am going to knit her a cover up so that we can walk to and from the pool without worrying that some pedophile is watching my cute little girl in her swimsuit (not that those idiots would stop looking because of a cover up, but every little bit helps). And yes, I am a totally paranoid, over protective mother when it comes to the possibility of crazy people lurking around the corner.

With all that said...here's her newest article of clothing!

Isn't that adorable?!?!?!

I LOVE Summer!!!

I Love Summer! It's hot, it's sticky (well not really here in Michigan but all the people who are from here seem to think it's horrible humidity...they should move to the south) but those aren't the reasons I love it so much. I love it because I love summer shoes...sandals, flip flops, you name it and I love it. I used to love ALL things shoe but in the past several years my affinity for "other" shoes has lessened. I am trying to pass my love for shoes on to my beloved daughter but as you may have read in my previous post she hates shoes. It kind of makes me sad because ever since she was born shopping for myself doesn't give me the same thrill as shopping for her. I haven't let the fact that she hates shoes deter me though, I mean, she has to have shoes, right?!?! Fortunately I have The Children's Place which has many affordable options, plus I shop there so much that they invited us to their rewards program so we actually earn points for every dollar you spend and then they send us a reward certificate for $10 when we reach a certain number of points. Anyway, here's my latest purchase...
I bought both pair but they have even more colors (7 to choose from) which were so hard to resist, so I just stuck to the essentials. Anyway...I'm ready and excited for summer now!

Thanksgiving and Such...

We had an awesome Thanksgiving. It was a small group, just B and I, Y, and B's parents and brother drove over from Canada. I cooked my very first turkey (B had cooked them in years past) and it was pretty dang good!!! We also had macaroni and cheese, green beans, mashed potatoes, collard greens, NC style barbecue (pulled pork), hush puppies and apple pie for dessert (Queta made the pie). It was all amazing but the turkey was definitely the best! It was Y's first Thanksgiving but she didn't get to enjoy any of the food...not directly anyway! P, Q & T stayed overnight to watch Y so that I could go shopping on Black Friday while B was at work. I was up at 4am with a goal to be out by 4:30 but i ended up having to pump because I was engorged, so it was closer to 5am when I left. Luckily BestBuy is just down the street, but even so it was nowhere near as bad as last year. Maybe I just got lucky but I don't I didn't really wait in line for too long anywhere I went, even Walmart. I have a couple more gifts to buy, but I got a large amount of the shopping done. Now we are just gonna go buy Y some new clothes (yes, more clothes) this weekend.

My perfectly marinated and roasted turkey!

Napping with Mommy!

Yanna's tree sitting atop one of her gifts that I've yet to wrap (I figure she doesn't know the difference yet anyway).

She loves to look back and forth between her tree and the TV.

I Survived!

Well, we survived moving and a weekend without internet! Now the fun of putting everything in it's place which will begin promptly so this will be a short post. We accomplished a lot this weekend and learned that we have a lot more stuff than we thought. We were also able to go and buy Y's crib, playard, car seat, stroller, swing and a couple other items so aside from her changing table/dresser combo and her mattress we have purchased all of the big necessary items. When I get everything ready I'll take some pictures for everyone to see but as for now...I got a lot of work to do!

Deals, Deals, Deals

Ok, so I told a falsity! I said the next time you heard from me I'd be in NC, well I'm not in NC yet (I leave tomorrow) and I'm still posting a message. I really couldn't resist though, I wanted to add pictures of the adorable clothes that we've bought recently. So here goes:

These were purchased at Old Navy and oldnavy.com. And yes the 2 dresses at the top are the same style but they're different sizes so when she outgrows one she'll have the other! As for the pants, I purchased a matching top for them but they were actually sold out so I didn't actually get the top, it was really cute and I was very disappointed. But I still love the pants!

These three came from Gymboree, I had never shopped there before but then again I never had a reason to. Anyways, I now have another place to stop when I'm at the mall!

Children's Place! Need I say more?!?!

These came from Baby Depot at Burlington Coat Factory. I didn't even know such a place existed until they mailed me a coupon. As for the rubber ducky and fish...those were all B's idea. I think he just wanted the rubber ducky for himself!

So, as you can probably see, we love to go shopping and buy Y's clothes! In fact I think I love shopping for her more than I love shopping for me, there are so many options. And with everything that we bought I don't even think that we spent $50! I love sales!

Anyway, I got a plane to catch tomorrow morning so I'd better get some rest. So ttyl!

I Love to Shop...

and it's even more fun when it's for a baby! I am surprised actually, I got just as much enjoyment from shopping for the baby as I do when I'm shopping for myself! Now I know what you're probably thinking, "how can she shop for a baby that she doesn't even know the gender for"? Well that's an easy answer...it's called gender neutral!!! Anyway, I really only went to the mall to meet with a group from a class and do some research for our project (yes, that really is the truth). However, I ended up having a few hours to waste and I just couldn't resist. It just so turns out that since all the spring/summer clothing is out now they're selling all the fall/winter stuff at really cheap prices (especially at The Children's Place) and it just so happens that our dear baby will be born in September which is when the really cold weather starts to creep in. So anyway, enough of the talkin' here are my really cool finds!

This little jumper is from Gap

and this is the back near the butt area.

Same as the previous, but green of course.
Another little cream 2-piece, only it's reversible
