2013 NAIAS

It's been a very long time since we have taken Y to the auto show with us, that last time we took her she was probably right around Q's age now (18 months).  But this year we thought she'd have a lot of fun there and our usual babysitters weren't available.  Well she did have fun and she wanted to sit inside any and every car that had the doors unlocked!  Don't worry about Q, she was there and got in on the action as well!

2012 Auto Show

Every year B and myself go to the North American International Auto Show.  Looking at cars for hours on end isn't really my thing but it's B's thing and therefore I go without complaining (most of the time).  This year was slightly different though, normally I don't pay much attention to the cars with the exception of the Mini Cooper - I love them, they're cute!  This year, however, I was a bit more attentive to some of the other cars because before this year is out we will be in the market for a new (to us) car.  We have a list of possibilities and so when we saw the cars on that list I payed extra special attention.  I sat in the driver's seat, played around with the seat adjustment buttons to make sure I could get it at a place I liked and found comfy.  I sat in the passenger seat, climbed into the very back to see just how much leg room each had in case we ever needed to sit an adult back there.  I folded seats down and brought them back up again to see how easy it was to do as well as seeing how much trunk space it allows.  I opened doors, slammed doors, lifted the back hatch, tested just how much I could see out of the back window at different angles and positions.  I gave them a pretty thorough inspection and I enjoyed doing it!  Then we went on to see other vehicles that were way out of our price range but there are always people staring at them drooling over them.  But, if you ask me, this was the prettiest thing I saw all night!

And if you're wondering where Y was, she had a blast at home with her Grandpa P and Nana B!

Auto Show 2009

So this is U writing this post and because of that I can guarantee you that it won't be nearly as exciting as if B were writing it. It's cars...what can I say! That said, there were only 2 cars there that excited me, one because it will likely be our next vehicle and the other because it is the car I have always wanted and swear I will get once all of our children are adults and I have more disposable income. So with that said, I'll show you those pictures first.

The Ford Edge Sport. Honestly I can't tell much difference between this and a regular Ford Edge but I really like the rims and though this blue is nice...I want it in black.

The Mini Cooper! I've wanted this car since I first saw the movie The Italian Job. It may be a couple decades before I get it but I want it! And I love the fact that they have released a convertible version, finally! So I want the Convertible version in silver with black racing stripes. Hopefully by the time I'm in the market for it they will have a hard top convertible.

So now that we're done with that, here are some more cool cars that we saw:

This is the Ford Fusion Sport, another car that B would like to have. I'd go for the Hybrid version, which is now the most fuel efficient mid-size vehicle. (Ford should pay me for that plug).

Ford Mustang Bullit

Cadillac Converj

Chevy Volt

So as you can see we had a prett good day we saw so many more cars than these but these were the ones that interested me. But here's a picture of Y taking it all in and the best part of the day!

2008 Auto Show

I (B) finally have time to write my first blog. We had a very busy week, but it ended with a lot of fun. I finished my first week of working monday - friday (like a normal person) as I am training for my upcoming promotion of an IT Development QA Analyst. I will be spending a few hours each day doing my new job and then the rest of the time doing my current job of IT Help Desk until my company can hire a replacement to take over my current position. U had a busy week as well as she had school and had to run a few errands including her ultrasound appointment. Today her pregnancy is at exactly 8 weeks and I can't wait to find out the gender of our baby in another 2 months. Yesterday we went to a Detroit tradition (The 2008 North American International Auto Show).

Of course I was in heaven since cars are one of my passions, and there is no better place to see the best cars in the world than right here in the Motor City. U didn't mind it, but she got really tired after a few hours. I made up for it though as we treated ourselves to our favorite restaurant (Pizza Papalis) in Detroit's Greektown District. That's all for now, until next time.
