Technologically Advanced...

This morning while I made B some breakfast (pancakes in the shapes of "#" and "1" to represent #1 Dad) Y wanted to be distracted so she started asking for games. Now when she starts saying "games" that means she either wants to "play" the Wii with you or she wants to play games on my iPod Touch. I have downloaded several apps for her to play on my iPod and she loves them and has mastered them already. For the most part I stick to free apps but there is this one company, Duck Duck Moose, that has created these awesome apps from children's songs.  Several months ago I downloaded their Itsy Bitsy Spider app and it has been great at keeping her occupied while at restaurants or even at home.  Well recently I've downloaded a couple more of their apps since they are now 50% off ($0.99) and she loves those too!  One is The Wheels on the Bus and another is called Fish School which goes through the alphabet, numbers, colors, etc. (Side note:  she knows her ABCs for the most part and can count from 1-10 in english and 1-6 in spanish, and she is doing pretty well in learning her body parts in spanish as well, woohoo)!!

Anyway, she has pretty much mastered the use of my iPod. She says "games" when she wants to play games and "see baby" when she wants to watch videos or see pictures of herself.  She knows which screen has her games on it and how to get to that screen and she knows which button to press to exit any app she enters.  Fortunately she has not figured out what mommy's passcode is or how to enter it!  It's an expensive toy for her that's for sure, but fortunately she is extremely gentle with it but I still try not to let her play with it unsupervised (unless I REALLY need to distract her).

Here are some pictures of her relaxing with daddy on the couch as mommy made breakfast (and snapped a few photos)...enjoy!

A 3-Day Weekend...Yay!!

Wow, this week has really flown by thus far. I'm not sure if it's because I leave on Saturday or if it was because Monday was a holiday. It was awesome to be able to spend a 3-day weekend with B. It was so relaxing and just fun to sleep in late together and then just spend the day together all day for three whole days. On Saturday and Monday we went out to check out some of the Memorial Day sales and found some really great deals on baby clothes. Everything is so cute that I wish I could buy it all but I realize that would be really premature of me. Especially since mostly sun dresses and other clothes like that are what's out on display now and we never know what the weather will be like in Michigan once she's born. If I still lived in NC I wouldn't hesitate to buy her a bunch of those dresses and such, but here in MI it might prove to be a total waste of money.

Not a whole bunch has been happening with us lately. B has officially had his conditions removed from his US Residency. It's really good I suppose, I just lost the leverage that I had to demand that we move elsewhere, haha. Oh well! I go to the doctor again tomorrow. Yes, I did just go last week but he wanted to see me again before I leave for 2 weeks to go to NC. Maybe after my last visit I will be a little more calm, but I won't place any bets on it. Last week my blood pressure was really good, he was still impressed with my numbers (even though I thought they were high) and I found out that I had lost 7 pounds in 2 weeks. I guess pregnancy is really good for me, who would have thought that I'd get pregnant and lose weight.

Well I suppose since I leave on Saturday morning that I should begin doing laundry and getting everything organized for my trip. I guess it still hasn't sunk in yet that I'm going because I don't normally go visit this early in the summer. That and the fact that I'm a procrastinator doesn't really work well together. Anyway, I'm tired and heading to bed. I guess the next time I post I'll be in the great state of North Carolina. I guess now I'm no longer just going to Carolina in my mind!

A Relaxing Weekend with Family.

We had a very enjoyable weekend. B's family came on Friday and stayed with us until tonight (sunday). It was really nice to see them, especially since we haven't really seen them since Christmas. We were all able to relax and enjoy each others company and now my living room is so much cleaner! We are the PO Box for P (B's dad) and C (B's sister) and after a month and a half of not seeing them we had piles and piles of boxes. So it's nice to see my floor again! Other than that we spent Saturday laying around the house and doing a little shopping. We had a great dinner, a mixture of Chinese food, Mexican Food, and of course Pizza. We then went over to our friend's to borrow Transformers and we watched that the remainder of the night. We woke up to an ice storm and I'm actually grateful that we're back to going to church at 9am because they cancelled it due to the ice. However, a few hours later it warmed up and the ice turned to rain, so things are back to normal now. It was a nice change and we invited a family over to have some of the chicken noodle soup that I made, which was delicious I might add. So that was our weekend, hope yours was just as enjoyable!
