Week In Review

It's been a long week and probably at least that long since I last posted. So let's see where I should start off. So after all the stress and worrying from last week, I went on the internet and bought a blood pressure monitor. I read lots and lots of reviews and based on those reviews I picked the best one. Well once I got it and tested it, I found that my BP was reading 30 points lower on average than it reads when I go to the doctor. That is a HUGE difference, so I really didn't know whether to be happy that it was actually dramatically lower or to be pissed that I got a bad machine. So I called up a friend from church whose husband is a resident and asked if he could double check my blood pressure with his devices and see if mine is actually accurate. Well we tested it and it's accurate, so now when i go to the doctor on Wednesday I will take it with me and tell him of my experiences and even let him check it out if he wishes. So yay, needless to say I'm much less stressed about that.

Last week was a crazy busy week and I'm so glad that it's over! It did end on a good note on Friday night when we went to a Piston's game. It was our second game of the season (we go to another tomorrow which will be our third and final for this year). Anyway, for Valentine's day I bought a package deal for B where we got tickets, a $20 gift card, 2 Martini glasses (which are cool but we have no use for) and an autograph session with a player (Amir Johnson). Below I'll share some pictures with you. We also got a visit from B's family which was great, it enabled me to relax and have some fun to de-stress. We always have a lot of fun when they come to visit. On Sunday we watched Conference and then went for a walk at the park, pictures also follow of that (I think). Anyway, enjoy the pictures.

There's probably a ton of other things that I forgot to mention, but like I said it was a crazy week, but I'll try not to wait another week before I post again. ttyl.

A Very Happy V-Day!

Valentine's Day is always great! Well unless you're single, then it probably sucks, at least I thought it sucked when I was single. But anyway, yesterday was a long day but a really good day. I, of course had a very long day at school and B had a long day at work. We had dinner reservations for 7:20pm and boy was the place packed. I can't say that I was surprised; it's actually one of the best Italian restaurants that I've ever been to. We had reservations for 7:20 but I'm sure it helped that we arrived around 7:00 because we were seated about 10 minutes after our scheduled time but another couple that was scheduled for 7:00 had to wait something like 25 minutes. So dinner was great, then we just came home and relaxed for a while (B has to rest his food by lying on the couch after he eats). After that we exchanged cards and presents (sort of). I guess I should say that we officially received our presents because we both knew in advance what we had gotten. Except B did surprise me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers when he picked me up at school. So I ended up with flowers and a necklace that I had been wanting and B ended up with his favorite thing in the world, Piston's Tickets as well as a gift card to the Palace Locker room (he said he's going to buy the baby some Pistons gear), and a post game meet and greet with some player. The package also comes with Piston's Martini glasses but those are really of no use to us, so who cares! So all in all it was a fantastic day and we enjoyed our last Valentine's Day without a kid!

The Baby's First Basketball Game.

On Tuesday, at just 7 weeks gestation, our baby went to the first NBA Game of it's life. I'm pretty sure s/he enjoyed her/his self.

We went to watch the Pistons play the Toronto Raptors. We were expecting it to be a blowout and well...we weren't disappointed. After the game B always listens to sports talk radio on the way home and the announcer mentioned that the record between Detroit and Toronto is something like 26-6. So yeah, like I said we weren't suprised by the blowout, the final score ended up being 103-89.

It was the first game we had been to this season, so as you can imagine B was extremely excited, but then again he's excited to go to any sporting event. As for U, she had already had an extremely long day so she was pretty tired by the time the game started. It is extremely hard for her to pay attention at games, especially when there is a huge point spread anyway. So she went about her normal people-watching activities, although she was slightly disappointed in the lack of interesting people at this particular game. So she also spent some of her time taking a picture or two Like the one you see to the right. She also actually got a pretty good one of Tayshaun Prince shooting a pretty nice layup. We also got a decent video of the pre-game introductions with all the pyrotechnics and exciting stuff like that. Take a look at it below.

Next week, Wednesday, we go to have our very first ultrasound so stay tuned for the pictures!!!! Also we'll be going to the North American International Auto Show so watch out for some pictures of that as well. See ya later!

What's New? Not Much!

Well, let's see...There really haven't been any changes or updates since the last post, but we felt like we were neglecting our blog so we figured we'd write something. U still isn't having any symptoms and honestly if she hadn't of found out that she were pregnant while at the hospital she probably wouldn't believe it anymore. She does stress over the lack of symptoms, so we're both extremely relieved that her first doctor's appointment is on Monday. The thought of shopping for maternity clothes has her really excited, but then again shopping always gets her excited. As for B, he's up for a promotion at his job which we're pretty excited about. He'll no longer have to work weekends and holidays - I think this has U happier about the position than the raise in salary does. He'll be working as a software tester which should be a little less stressful than his current position in that he'll have to deal with much fewer people which is a really good thing because if you didn't already know - B hates dealing with people! Well, I guess that's all the updates for today but please return next week for another episode of, "The Days of Our Pregnancy." Next week's episode will include details from our first doctor's appointment, a Detroit Piston's basketball game, as well as other random details from our lives...stay tuned! 143
